Felizsta, A Timeline & Farewell

Dear Friends, Family and Fanizstas,

We have made the difficult decision to close Felizsta at the end of 2021.

We are a little sad, but mostly proud.  Proud to have made our dreams come true and bring a little corner of our Latinx culture and celebration to the world.  

It's really tough out here for small businesses, so I implore you to go out and support your favorite local shop -- not just during the holidays but year round! After all, small businesses are what make our neighborhoods and main streets unique.  

And please! Tell us something you love about Felizsta or the best thing you ever got at our shop! It'll make us smile and remember all the good times.  

I'd like to end this chapter beautifully, as we just welcomed our baby girl #2 in early October.  The timing is right to let go and spend some quality time with my growing family.  

The last day to order cookies will be December 1, 2021.  We are short staffed so doing our best to keep up with orders and baking.  We *SO* appreciate your patience during this transition.  Keep following along for special discounts, closing sales and final farewells.

My parents retire from Celebrity Cake Shop in McAllen, TX and move to Tulsa, OK in hopes of helping me jumpstart "Felizsta -- a celebration of Latinx culture & cookies!"

We join Kitchen 66 Food Entrepreneurship program, experiment with packaging prototypes, create a logo and more!
SUMMER 2018 is born! We graduate from K66 program and start selling our cookies at local farmer's markets and online only.  No brick & mortar yet. We simply bake out of a commercial kitchen and use office space in our own home for operations.
Mother Road Market opens!  We start baking and selling out of Mother Road Market and Kitchen.  We do our first taste testings, pop up shops and holiday shipping nation-wide.  We also welcome a new baby girl to our family.
We do everything we can to build up our business - fundraisers, farmer's markets, wholesale accounts, online sales and more.  We continue to bake at Mother Road Market commercial kitchen but outgrow our home office. Therefore, we apply (and ultimately win) a chance to become a Shop at Mother Road Market and decide to move our operations to a more permanent location.

COVID-19 global pandemic hits hard.  Our opening is delayed and we #StaySaferAtHome to #SaveLives.
We open our doors for the first time! We hire our first employee (outside family) and learn how to become a real life retail business!
Our business grows 400% with a retail shop! We've reached a new milestone of delivering thousands of cookie shipments to 47 different states.
 SPRING 2021
We get featured in Tulsa People, Tulsa World and The Good Life List with Mia Fleming News on 6.  We announce that we are pregnant with baby girl #2 due in October!
Felizsta celebrates 3 YEARS in June of 2021 with a BIDI BIDI BIRTHDAY BASH!
FALL 2021
Construction begins for Tulsa Market District to make our Route 66 neighborhood a more pedestrian friendly and livable work/life place.  The Shops at Mother Road Market turn 1! Mother Road Market turns 3! Our baby girl #2 is born! and my parents move back to Texas. 
 Felizsta says Farewell ((Adios)) until we meet again.
