About Our Cookies

All our authentic Mexican cookies are made-from-scratch, hand-cut and baked with tradition and love.

Our recipes have been in the family for more than 35 years and originated in the Rio Grande Valley located at the Southern most tip of Texas from our parent's panaderia -- 'Celebrity Cake Shop.'

We've decided to give each a unique name because Mexican cookies are often called by different names based on region, family, recipe or shape.

Lunas
(Mexican Wedding Cookies or Polvorones)

The tradition behind these cookies:
Mexican Wedding Cookies or polvorones are a staple of Latin kitchens everywhere.  We all have our memories of baking besides abuela, watching the dusty white powder fill the air (and our bellies).  Despite their name, they are baked in most households to make any occasion extra special.   Regardless, Mexican Wedding Cookies should be part of everyone’s cookie repertoire -- they're a classic!
What they taste like:
Shortbread styled, not-too-sweet and filled with rich pecans, they are the perfect companion for coffee, buffets and to share at any special celebration.
What Felizsta calls them:
We call these Lunas (Spanish for moon) because they remind of us a white bright full moon.
Allergens:
Contains: dairy, soy, tree nuts, eggs and wheat

Sprinklez
(Mexican Shortbread w/Sprinkles)

The tradition behind these cookies:
This is a Felizsta original cookie!  It's a version of our beloved Mexican Wedding cookie recipe, except that is does NOT have pecans or powdered sugar.  Instead, it's topped with fun sprinkles.  Kids love them!  And they're a tasty, colorful addition to any dessert table.
What they taste like:
Shortbread styled, not-too-sweet and topped with sprinkles, these fun little cookies are a crowd pleaser (especially for kids) and add a touch of interest to any celebration!
What Felizsta calls them:
We call these Sprinklez because of the colorful sprinkles that cover these cookies. We try to change up the colors of the sprinkles for different holidays too!

Allergens:
Contains: dairy, soy, eggs and wheat

Valentinas
(Pan de Polvo WITH Pecans)

The tradition behind these cookies:
Pan de Polvo is traditionally served at Christmas, Weddings, Quinceneras and other special occasions.  It's a family favorite during the holiday season and typically made in large batches to share with community and friends.  Some variations include anise, it's important to note that our recipe does NOT use anise.
What they taste like:
A crunchy, pecan-filled, freshly grinded cinnamon sugar splendor!
What Felizsta calls them:
We call these Valentinas because of their heart shape, which reminds us of Valentine's Day.  We think they're a perfect way to share your affection and love to a friend or family member year-round.
Allergens:
Contains: dairy, soy, tree nuts and wheat

Stellas
(Pan de Polvo WITHOUT pecans)

The tradition behind these cookies:
Pan de Polvo is traditionally served at Christmas, Weddings, Quinceneras and other special occasions.  It's a family favorite during the holiday season and typically made in large batches to share with community and friends.  Some variations include anise, it's important to note that our recipe does NOT use anise.
What they taste like:
A crumbly, melt-in-your mouth, freshly grinded cinnamon sugar sensation!
